Your best successful run is saved for each challenge, aircraft and level, thirty times a second from the start gate. On the next run it sets off with you: a translucent, bluish-white copy of the aircraft that flies that run again alongside you. A Ghost button shows or hides it.
Twenty-one challenges have one: the nineteen timed courses and the two carrier traps. On a Steam leaderboard, “Race” downloads another pilot’s ghost to fly against it.
Easy is never stricter than Standard, nor Hard more lenient.
| Easy | Standard | Hard | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wind | Calm, no turbulence | The challenge’s own | One step stronger, turbulence, overcast, 2,500 m visibility |
| View | Chase instead of the pilot’s or cockpit view, free | The challenge’s own, locked during the attempt | The challenge’s own, locked |
| Gate counted beyond its frame | 25% each side | 15% each side | 10% each side |
| Scraped gate | Counts | Counts | Counts, +1 s |
| FPV race gates | Fly-through | Fly-through | Solid: touching one is a crash |
| Arrow to the next gate | Always shown | Your choice | Your choice |
Custom: you pick the view, the wind, the turbulence and the visibility. Medals follow the standard level whose weather it matches, with no online leaderboard.
One Steam leaderboard per challenge and level, with the top ten, the pilots around you and your friends. Without Steam, your records stay saved on the computer.
The same aircraft are learnt first at the school, with an instructor.
