The bike that stores the energy of your rides to help you along

October 2025

On the road

The prototype under test, filmed on the move. The assistance runs only on recovered energy: no plug, no battery to charge.

The project on video

This video (in French) walks through the design, the build and the first tests of the Styx bike.

The latest prototype

Why waste the energy produced when braking or riding downhill? Styx stores it in supercapacitors, then gives it back when you need it most: on climbs, when pulling away, during hard efforts.

The current prototype shows that electric assistance can work well without relying on a battery alone.

Performance

To see how the prototype performs, try Styx Analyse, our tool for viewing and analysing the bike’s performance on sample rides.

Explore the energy recovered, the assistance power and the bike’s efficiency on different routes. The web version lets anyone browse the sample rides.

How the project grew

Styx is the result of a long stretch of design work and experiments. From the first idea to the latest prototypes, each step improved the concept.

  1. Proof of concept (P1)

  2. Prototype 2 (P2)

  3. Prototype 2.5 (P2.5)

  4. Road tests
